Elite Athlete Pathways helps talented athletes from the UK unlock opportunities to study and compete in the United States. Through our network of college coaches and recruitment partners, we guide players through the journey from initial assessment and trials to securing a scholarship at a US university as well as offering unique experiences and opportunities along the way through our tours and events. Our goal is simple: to open doors for ambitious athletes, helping them combine high-level sport with a world-class education and an unforgettable life experience.
Craig Hughes brings over a decade of experience in international athlete recruitment and development. Originally from Scotland, he earned a soccer scholarship to Grand View University, where he captained the Vikings while completing a degree in Business Marketing. During his collegiate career, he helped lead the program to multiple conference and regional championships and gained first-hand experience of the demands of the U.S. student-athlete pathway.
Following graduation, Craig moved into collegiate coaching at Midland University, developing his expertise in player development, recruitment, and program operations. He later progressed into professional football environments, further broadening his understanding of elite performance standards and long-term athlete progression.
With more than 10 years of experience helping athletes secure opportunities in the United States, Craig has guided hundreds of players through the scholarship process. His combined background as a former U.S. college captain, collegiate coach, and experience working with professional football Clubs enables him to provide athletes and families with clear, credible, and proven guidance on achieving success within the American collegiate system.

Kris Boyd
Kris Boyd began his professional career with Kilmarnock F.C., where he quickly established himself as one of Scotland’s most clinical strikers. His consistent goal-scoring form earned him a move to Rangers F.C. in 2006, where he enjoyed the most successful spell of his career, winning multiple league titles and domestic trophies while becoming one of the club’s most prolific modern-era scorers.
Following his time at Rangers, Kris had spells with Middlesbrough F.C., Nottingham Forest F.C., and Portland Timbers before returning to Kilmarnock and Rangers to further cement his legacy as one of the Scottish Premiership’s all-time leading scorers. He also represented the Scotland national football team and has since transitioned into a successful media career.
Kris is now keen to channel his experience into supporting the next generation through Elite Athlete Pathways, helping identify and create opportunities for young players in the United States and beyond. His ambition is to provide mentorship, insight, and professional connections that can open doors for emerging talent worldwide.
